Privacy Policy
Last updated: 28 August 2026
1. Who we are
The data controller for ethereumtv.co is Blockchain Bravo OÜ, an Estonian private limited company (registry code 17507329), Tartu mnt 67/1, 13B, Harju, 10115 Tallinn, Estonia. You can reach us at hello@ethereumtv.co. This page explains what personal data we collect, how we use it, and your rights under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
2. Watching without an account
You can browse and watch everything on Ethereum TV without an account. When you do, we collect no personal data ourselves. Our hosting and database providers process technical data (such as IP addresses) transiently to serve the site and protect it from abuse. Our legal basis for this is our legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR) in running and securing the service.
Videos are embedded from YouTube in its privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com), which YouTube states does not use cookies to personalize ads before playback starts. When a video plays, YouTube (Google) processes data about the playback under its own privacy policy. On talk pages playback starts only when you press play; on the TV page, tuning in starts playback automatically. Video thumbnails are loaded from YouTube's image servers on pages that show them, so some requests reach YouTube even without playback. Every talk page also links to the original video on YouTube.
3. If you create an account
An account is optional. If you create one, we process:
- Email address and password. Used to sign you in and, if needed, to reset your password or contact you about your account. Passwords are stored hashed; we never see them.
- Profile details you choose to add, such as a display name or avatar image.
- Wallet address, only if you choose to link an Ethereum wallet for sign-in. We store the public address and any public ENS name registered to it (looked up once from the public Ethereum network). We never ask for private keys, and linking a wallet involves no transaction.
- Your activity in the product: saved talks and the speakers, topics, events, and communities you follow, so your library and feed work.
Legal basis: performance of a contract with you (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR), namely providing the account features you signed up for.
4. What we do not do
We do not sell personal data, we do not show ads, and we do not use tracking cookies or cross-site trackers. The site currently runs no analytics service; if we add privacy-preserving, cookieless analytics later, we will update this policy first.
5. Where your data lives
Account data is stored with our database and authentication provider, Supabase, in their EU region (Frankfurt, Germany). The website is served by Cloudflare, whose global network processes technical connection data to deliver and protect the site. Embedded video is delivered by YouTube (Google). Where a provider processes data outside the EU, transfers rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, as applicable.
- Supabase (database, authentication; EU region): supabase.com/privacy
- Cloudflare, Inc. (hosting, DNS, CDN): cloudflare.com/privacypolicy
- Google LLC / YouTube (embedded video playback, thumbnails): policies.google.com/privacy
We plan to mirror the public catalog to decentralized storage for long-term preservation. That mirror contains only the public archive, never account data.
6. How long we keep it
Your account data is kept until you delete your account (you can do this yourself in Settings) or ask us to remove it, or until we discontinue the project. Speaker and talk information in the public catalog is editorial content about public conference appearances, not account data, and stays in the archive.
7. Speakers
The archive lists talks given publicly at conferences, with speaker names and affiliations as published by the events. We process this on the basis of legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR) in documenting the public record of the Ethereum ecosystem. If you are a speaker and want your listing corrected, or want to claim your profile, email hello@ethereumtv.co.
8. Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to processing, to receive your data in a portable format, and to withdraw consent where processing is based on it. To exercise any of these rights, email hello@ethereumtv.co. You can also lodge a complaint with the Estonian Data Protection Inspectorate (Andmekaitse Inspektsioon) or your local supervisory authority.
9. Cookies and local storage
We do not set tracking cookies. We use your browser's local storage for functional preferences (your theme choice and your recent search picks, which stay on your device and are never sent to us) and, if you sign in, for your session. The shuffle feature remembers talks it has already dealt you within a browser tab; that list lives only in your browser and is gone when the tab closes. YouTube may set cookies once an embedded video plays, as described in section 2.
10. Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page and highlight material changes on the site.
